About names

Your username must be unique and conform to Wordpress rules: lowercase numbers and letters. You will use your username for sign-in.

Your Profile Name is used on the site to identify your comments and content, and to credit you in published books. We recommend using your real name — seeing your name in a fabulous book is pretty wonderful! You are free to select a nickname if you prefer.

We're starting out with a fairly general set of genres to help authors and readers find each other. As the number of books and people increases, we'll add genres based on interest. If you think we're really missing a genre, feel free to suggest one at any time!

I'm an author

Great! We adore authors! To request a book site, please submit a sample of your writing to editor@litsam.com. We understand what an early draft looks like, so please don't be shy. You do NOT need to clean it up first — you're not pitching for publication. Our goal is to make sure each author has a successful experience writing with fan involvement.

• Characters and story are original (sorry — no fan-fic)
• The work is literary in nature (no how-to, self-help etc.)
• The content meets legal guidelines (we'll interpret this as broadly as current law permits).
• You're interested in interacting with readers.
• You want to polish, and eventually publish, the manuscript.
